synthetic oils are designed to last longer and that is where they shine and prove superior. if you have a modified engine and religously change your oil around 2500-3000 miles a regular oil will be just fine. my stang is blown and i use the motorcraft blend with good results. the lower viscosity of a full synthetic oil is prone to more blow-by
